Favorite Products to Make Life Easier for Modern Mamas

Hi, I'm Morgan. In my time as a mom, I have learned just how hard life can be, but I'd like to share some tips to make it a little easier. I've put together a few of my favorite products and services that I use on a regular basis to simplify my life and free up more time and energy for fun and family. Who couldn't use more of that?

Grocery Pick-Up

If you haven’t tried this yet, you need to. I was hesitant at first, but once I tried it, it was so easy and saved so much time that any possible downside was totally worth it for me. If you haven’t heard of this before, this is how grocery pick-up services usually work: essentially, you order groceries online, drive to your store, and they load your groceries into your car for you. You don’t even need to get out of your car!

Look into the stores in your area and see if they offer grocery pick-up services. I choose to order from Walmart for a few reasons: there is no extra charge for pick-up; the grocery app is easy to use; and you can submit your TC number from your digital receipt to Savings Catcher in the Walmart app and save even more. Machine-Washable Rugs

Pretty much if it’s not machine washable, I don’t buy it. I had a cute fuzzy rug in my daughter’s room previously, but it quickly got matted and dirty and I couldn’t get it clean. I eventually had to get rid of it. Save yourself the stress and money of replacing your rug over and over again and check out some of these machine-washable rugs I found at Target. They have several brands that offer these kinds of rugs including Pillowfort and Project 62. I purchased and love the Project 62 Plush Shag Rug in Cream.

Machine-Washable Dress-Ups

I have a little princess in my home and she loves dressing up. This next product allows me to relax a little more and play without worrying about spills or stains. Little Adventures Dress-Ups are convenient, durable, comfortable, machine-washable, and have a variety of costumes for your little prince or princess.

Google Photos

Stop worrying about running out of space on your phone for more pictures of your cute kid(s). Get the Google Photos app for unlimited photo storage. Your photos on your camera roll will download to your Google Photos account, and once that’s done you click the “Free Up Space” button and follow the simple directions to get the pictures off your phone and on your Google account. The best part: it’s free!

Little Poppy Co. Bow Subscription

We love bows at our house. Having three new bows sent to our house every month not only adds convenience but also excitement as we wait to see what next month’s bows will be. New and expecting moms to girls can receive a month of free bows by posting on Instagram. Read more about it on their website and sign up for your subscription with this link.

Books/Scriptures on Audio

Hands-down the thing that helps my day go better the most is reading scriptures. I use the LDS Gospel Library app which has a feature that allows you to play the audio. Most days, I listen to the scriptures in audio form while I rest or catch up on my to-do list. Listening to any book or podcast is a great way to multi-task.

Bath Time

Lately, it’s been a struggle getting my daughter into the bath. The Crayola Bathtub Crayons entice her in and keep her interest. I keep a dish wand sponge in my rust-resistant shower caddy for quick clean-ups. The Skip Hop Moby Whale Bath Rinser is also one of my favorites because of the rubber edge that allows you to put it right on their head and seal the water out of their eyes without trying to get them to lean their head back or close their eyes and hold their breath.

Beauty Products for Mom

On my busiest mornings, I only use these three products: concealer, mascara, dry shampoo. The concealer has an attached sponge that makes it so convenient.

Diaper Bag Backpack

With children, having two hands free is always better than one. Whether you’re running errands or playing at the park, you’ll want a bag you can wear as a backpack. There are a lot of cute options out there, like the Fawn Design diaper bag, Petunia Pickle Bottom Boxy Backpack, and the Freshly Picked diaper bag to name a few.

Baby Items

It’s been a little while since I had an infant, but I remember the following items being a necessity:

  • a nursing cover that also acts as a carseat cover with multiple other uses like the ones from Copper Pearl

  • a container that holds and divides your formula for on-the-go

  • a Wubbanub pacifier to help the binkie stay in their mouth and off the floor.

  • Also, how does anybody not use a diaper pail? The all-around most fresh smelling, convenient, and attractive is the Munchkin STEP Pail.

Old Navy

Old Navy is my one-stop-shop for 90% of my daughter's clothes. Their stuff is trendy, easy to care for, and so affordable. I order online to make it even easier. Watch for their regular online sales of 40%-50% off and free shipping. I also love them for jeans and athletic wear for men and women. Purchase through Ebates and get additional cash back. Dwell and Slumber House Dress

These dresses are my go-to right now in the mornings and I will definitely be wearing one in the hospital whenever I have my next baby. They are soft, durable, comfortable, have pockets, and have snaps to make it nursing friendly. I currently own one in the classic onyx and mauve and have my eye on the Breton Stripe.

My Favorite Sippy Cups

I’ve tried several sippy cups and these are my favorite. Whether they’re left lying on the couch or being thrown on the floor, these things don’t leak.

Everything I’ve shared here are products and services that I truly love. I hope you’re able to incorporate one or many of these things into your life and that they bring you a little more peace and a little less stress.
